Emmaus History

Since being established in Poquoson, Emmaus Baptist Church has sought to be a faithful witness for Christ on the Peninsula and throughout the Hampton Roads community. What began as a gathering of believers with a shared desire to know Jesus and make Him known has grown into a multigenerational family of faith committed to God's Word and His mission.

Throughout the years, God has continued to guide and sustain our church as generations of families have worshiped together, served their neighbors, and shared the hope of the Gospel with those around them. While our community and methods have changed over time, our foundation has remained the same—Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word.

Today, Emmaus Baptist Church continues to look forward with faith and expectancy, building on the legacy of those who came before us while investing in the next generation of disciples. We remain committed to helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and serve others in love as we seek to make an eternal impact in Poquoson, Hampton Roads, and beyond.
