Pastor Scott Wade began his ministry as Emmaus’ senior pastor in June 2018. Pastor Scott graduated from Tabb High School in York County. After high school he graduated from Carson Newman University in 2001 with a bachelor’s in business management while playing football for the Eagles. Pastor Scott worked the next nine years in sports ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as area representative over the peninsula and middle peninsula. Prior to his position at EBC, he was youth and associate minister at Temple Baptist Church in Newport News. Pastor Scott finished his Master’s of Theology from Liberty University in 2020. Pastor Scott is married to Bethany and they are blessed with four children, Isaac, Josiah, Micah, and Tirzah. Pastor Scott is passionate about sports, especially the ones his kids play, the local church, and making disciples who make disciples. Father, grandfather, coach and Centrikid “parent” volunteer, Keith is passionate about helping kids grow spiritually and engaging families in church. A devoted UNC sports fan, Keith loves to talk sports while getting dads involved in ebcKids.
Director of Youth and Technology
Mitch Myers joined Emmaus to serve as the Youth and Technology Director after moving here from Minnesota. He has degrees in Recording & Music Technology and Business in Media from Minneapolis Media Institute, and he is currently working towards a Masters of Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to Emmaus, he worked as an install and repair technician with CenturyLink, and he volunteered at Little Falls Alliance Church in the youth and AV departments. Mitch is married to Karin, and they are blessed with a son, Logan. He is passionate about all things technology, playing and recording music, playing video games, and talking to people about Christ.
Lynne Bland has been the Administrative Assistant at Emmaus since June of 2006. She is a graduate of Poquoson High School Class of 1983. Lynne is married with 2 adult children and has been a Poquoson resident since 3rd grade.
David Knowles serves as the Music Director / Worship Leader at Emmaus. He and his wife, Kathi, joined Emmaus in January of 2012. Since that time, David has served as a Deacon, been a member of the Choir and Praise Team, and served on various committees. In April of 2017, he began as the Music Director, working with both the Praise Team and Choir. With a passion for music and technology, David has been instrumental in upgrading and updating the AV equipment as well as the network at the church. He also setup streaming and recording of Sunday services as well as Ms Melba’s weekly Bible study.
Outside of church, David loves to spend time with his family, especially his grandson, Allwyn.
